« Cette carte représente Noël grâce à deux ours polaires. J’ai fait une carte sur le thème de Noël parce que c’est ma saison préférée et le moment le plus merveilleux de l’année. Cette carte est pour le programme Passeport car ils méritent tout notre amour et notre appréciation. Ils accueillent à bras ouverts tous les élèves dans le besoin. Passeport m’a aidé de bien des façons et m’a donné tant de possibilités de réussir. Merci. »

"My artwork represents a boy from my favourite show called, "One Piece." In this painting he's looking outside from a huge pirate ship that he owns, called "The Thousand Sunny's." I chose this character because he represents hope, joy and freedom; a thought that would go perfectly with the Holiday Season."

"The flower in this artwork represent me and my friends . The thorns represents the hardships that we went and are still going through. For example: Covid. During Covid, we were separated from each other, not able to go out, and have fun together. But through out all of this hardships, we were able to bloom and the become the people that we are today."

This artwork depicts youth, unity, fluidity and the serenity of life consequently, I used artistic styles to imply these characteristics, as well as calmness and flow. The blending and contrast of colours reflect the complexities of human emotion and the way it influences our lives. It reflects life in the perspective that in the end, it is these intricate details and differences that make life beautiful. "

"Pathways to Education has provided countless students with amazing resources to build a great future for themselves. I wanted to represent that within the festive theme by adding some academic elements such as the blackboard behind Santa. One of the most important values that Pathways shares is diversity and inclusivity, so I waned to ensure that the design didn't just include Christmas celebratory elements, but other holidays that are celebrated by many, such as Hanukkah. I wanted to make the design be something that is recognizable to be festive by all people, so I added things such as candy canes, presents, stars and more to put people in the holiday spirit!"

"Mon dessin représente les feux d'artifice. Je me suis inspirée des festivals au Japon, car j'aime les couleurs, les costumes, et surtout les feux d'artifices. Au Japon, les feux d'artifices représentent le début de la nouvelle année, et je crois que nous méritons tout de recevoir la nouvelle année de manière joyeuse et avec nos proches."

"This piece of artwork represents a very snowy vibe. I thought a snow globe would be a cool idea to greet people into the snowy, winter season. It has a representation of the holidays as there is the santa and reindeer in the moon but it provides a nice greeting to whoever this is given to. There are many trees (black and white) that have a nice contrast in a snowfall in the night. The idea of having the title pathways on the snow globe is for the remembrance of having pathways greeting you. People usually get snow globes as a souvenir to keep, so in a way this is a souvenir from pathways."

"In my art work, there is a little girl about the age of 5 with a present in front of a toy shop. I’d say it reminds me a little bit of my childhood going out with my mom to buy presents at a toy shop 15 min away from my house with younger siblings. The girl in the drawing looks a bit flustered seeing elf’s walk around carrying gifts lol. Thank you for this opportunity :)"

"So the card I made says happy holidays on the front and has Christmas lights all over it! The lights are made out of watercolours paint and I used sharpies for the writing and outline. I made this card for anyone. I suppose that’s why I put a happy holiday on it but it’s aimed for Christmas because of the Christmas lights!"

"J'ai choisi de dessiner ce dessin pour plusieurs raisons. Principalement, j'ai voulu représenter la différence. La différence entre chaque être humain. Chaque petits sapins représentent une personne. Chacun des sapins ont leurs traits uniques à eux. Et c'est cela que je trouve beau. Chaque personne ne ce monde ont leurs petits différents, mais ce sont ses petits détails qui peuvent paraître insignifiants qui nous rendent uniques. Chaque personne est belle à sa façon. Et je trouve que le temps des fêtes est le meilleur moment pour partager cela. Noël est pour moi l'une des fêtes les plus importantes. C'est le moment ou les familles, les amis et même les inconnus se retrouvent au pied d'un sapin et partagent leurs voeux, leur amour et leur sincérité. C'est le mélange de chacune de ses personne, de leurs bagages, de leurs valeurs et leurs visions parfois complètement opposé qui créer la magie de Noël."

"My Christmas card consists many common symbols of Christmas such as the snowman, presents, gloves, candy canes, Christmas lights, mistletoe, and a branch of pine tree. These symbols are very comforting to me as it just reminds me of the happy holidays spent with family. Additionally a cardinal bird which are a symbol of hope and joy during the Christmas season. And to add on I added a message wishing everyone warm wishes, even though winters are very cold. Spending the holidays with our families bring a warm feeling in our hearts."

The written font I did just came in a flow in my hands. "I've been drawing and painting for a few years as a hobby. I was going to make this painting for fun, until I heard about this competition and wanted to enroll by painting this piece. I was inspired to paint this from a cool background I saw earlier last month. In this painting, there is a snowy background with distant trees all painted by watercolors blending together. There is one tree that is closer than the others and it is covered in snow, along with an orange robin with a broken wing, resting on a branch shielded from the snow by the tree, watching the snow fall and hoping to survive until the spring while waiting for it's family to return from the Southern countries."

The trees make for such stunning scenery as the sky becomes darker and the night sky becomes full of those glorious white snowflakes. "Voici mon dessin dans celui-ci il y a deux éléments principaux. Le premier est un renne au nez rouge. Le renne se trouve sur une colline de neige. Il est souriant et a de belles pomettes rose framboise. Son nez, comme l'indique son nom, est un rouge vif et le rend encore plus mignon. Ensuite, il y a un petit collier rouge avec des grolots or. Ses oreilles ressemblent un peu a celles d'un chat. Puis, ses bois sont grands et d'un brun foncé. Le deuxième élément de mon dessin est un guirlande rouge et des boules bleus et mauves. Finalement, il y a une tombée de flocons et un beau message chaleureux ''joyeux noël'' en vert forêt."

"For this Christmas card, I've written "Merry Holidays" which is something that is a mix between "Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays". The reason I did this, is because my elderly grandfather often gets mixed up between saying Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays, which turned it into an inside joke for my family. I've drawn lights underneath to represent lights that you would place on your house during the Holiday Season."

"My holiday card is not meant to be just about Christmas, but it is supposed to represent winter; and that you can have a good, fun, winter without celebrating Christmas. On the front of the card it says, "Have a frosty winter" This saying ties in with Frosty the Snowman and a cold, frosty winter. I believe that Frosty the Snowman does not have to be related to Christmas in particular and this card is a good way to show how to celebrate winter in general with a fun character like Frosty. On the inside of the card I wrote, " Have a holly jolly holiday" and then listed a series of different fun activities that can be done during the winter season and during different winter holidays. The last one on the list the most important one to remember " Spend time with loved ones"- not matter what holiday anyone celebrates during the winter season, the most important thing to remember to do is spend time with the people you love."

"My submission is a snowman in the snow with snowflakes falling from the sky. There is a little bit of writing that says, "happy holidays". Since the snowman is outside, I decided to colour the background blue as a representation of the outdoors. Finally the bottom of the card is white because the snowman is on the snow and snow is white. Also, when I think about the holidays, the first thing that comes to my mind is the snowman."

"I started my drawing by writing "Happy Holidays!" in bubble letters. I coloured it in red and green because those are my favourite colours. I drew a candy cane in the middle because a lot of people like candy canes, including me. I drew 2 snowflakes because a lot of people love to play in the snow and love winter. Leur chalet au loin de leur lieu préféré, la ''coline'', un endroit toujours aussi chaleureux et réconfortant avec qui elle passait ses journées à boire un bon chocolat chaud avec ses ami(e)s. Une tradition s'était installée dans leur groupe. Toujours avoir un feu de camps et un bonhomme de neige. Sans cela, cet endroit ne serait pas autant incroyable. La luge, les chansons de Noël c'est ce que tout le monde adorait. La magie de Noël reste dans nos coeurs! La jeune femme a bien hâte de revivre ces moments inoubliables."

"Decided to try something a little bit more simplistic than my usual card designs, and honestly? I think I really do like it. The holidays don't have to be fancy and extravagant, as much as we often like them to be. They can just be simple. Even as simplistic as this; four colours and a shape, you still know exactly what it's supposed to be, and I think the holidays can be like that, too. "Depuis toute petite j’adore les décorations de Noël et je trouve que le sapin représente bien ça plus il est gros mieux c’est, je trouve, même que quand j’étais plus jeune j’étais persuadé que mes voisin avait un si gros sapin qu’il dépassait par le toit, ce n’ai que plus tard que j’ai appris que en fait c’était un sapin normal qui poussait derrière leur maison cependant j’aime toujours autant les sapin et surtout les décorer!"

"J'ai choisi de faire ce dessin de cette manière car pour moi c'est comme ça que j'imagine noel. Il y a trois mots en anglais qui sont la famille, l'espoir et l'amour. Pour moi, ces trois petit mots représentent beaucoup. En premier, la famille car noël est un temps de partage, ensuite l'espoir car sans elle nous ne serions pas autant heureux et pour finir l'amour car sans elle nous ne pourrions plus vivre. J'ai dessiné un foyer avec en haut des bas de noël dans le fond car sans ca pour moi ce n'est pas noël et pareillement sans des décorations de noël alors c'est pour ca que j'ai dessiné les boules de noel."

Les griffes fermement plantées dans l'écorce, le matou ne sait pas bien comment redescendre. Son mignon chapeau de Noël ne lui sera d'aucun secours ! Queue dressée, tête orientée vers le tronc, parviendra-t-il à revenir au sein de sa famille ?"
